YOUTH PROGRAMS

A LIFE-LONG ART FORM FOR EVERYONE

At Vallee de Croix, we are passionate about introducing younger generations to barbershop harmony. Not being aware of the wealth of opportunities available, many young singers stop singing after high school or college. By reaching out to youth, we are enriching lives, opening minds and building on an American tradition and helping to preserve its future. Singing is, indeed, a life-long art form that can continue well beyond high school and college.

YOUTH IN HARMONY EVENTS

Each year, we sponsor two Youth in Harmony (YIH) events in the region. In January, we helped organize our 10th Annual YIH Festival in Western Wisconsin, gathering over 120 teens – boys and girls – on a Saturday to learn to sing and perform in the barbershop style. Kids sang, danced and met new friends throughout the day. First-class coaches and quartets created a fun and inspiring atmosphere for learning songs and choreography. YIH staff provided lunch, snacks and tee-shirts for all participants. At the end of the day, students presented their new skills for family and friends in a short concert.
This fall, Vallee de Croix will help sponsor the 3rd Annual Twin Cities YIH Festival in Saint Paul. For more information on this event, keep posted to this website or please contact us at info@tcacappellafestival.org.
